IABC Canada names Maliha Aqeel as Canada’s 2021 Master Communicator

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Canada has named Maliha Aqeel, PMP, SCMP as IABC Canada’s 61st Master Communicator.

The IABC Canada Master Communicator designation (MC) is a lifetime achievement award for Canadian IABC members who are Accredited (ABC) or Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP) designees.

Aqeel is a highly strategic communication professional who is passionate about communication and how communication professionals can support the organization achieve its business objectives and create change. She has worked for global organizations and brings that mindset to her communication approach, considering cultural contexts as part of her planning and execution.

Aqeel, a past president of IABC’s Toronto chapter, consistently demonstrates her  effectiveness as a professional communicator through evidence-based practice, communications measurement, and research. Over the course of her career, she has assumed increasing levels of responsibility and accountability. She writes and presents widely about communications practice and innovation. She has contributed to IABC at all levels, holding roles in management, recognition, and organizational growth.

Criteria for the Master Communicator award include contributions to the communications field and profession; career achievement; authorship, speaking and lecturing; contributions to IABC; and demonstrated alignment with IABC’s values.

The Master Communicator Award has been a part of IABC Canada’s National Programs since 1980. IABC Canada will present the Master Communicator award when IABC Canada meets for the Canada West Regional Conference, October 25 – 27, 2021.
