2023 Silver Leaf Winners Announced

October 18, 2023

International Association of Business Communicators Canada Proudly Recognizes Excellence in Communications

The professional practice of communications is central to the success of companies and organizations across a wide spectrum of industries, and impacts our lives through the use of storytelling, creative design, writing, digital media, non-profit organizations and programs, and community engagement, to name a few.

Through their work in these various fields over the past year, Canadian communicators have continued to raise the bar when it comes to exemplifying excellence within the practice of communications, and we are proud to recognize, and celebrate their achievements.

We are proud to announce the 2023 Silver Leaf Award winners, recognizing outstanding professional communications. Of the 135 entries submitted, 26 are being honoured with a Silver Leaf Award this year – 13 with an Award of Excellence and 13 with an Award of Merit. This year’s entries spanned 31 different categories, ranging from Leadership Communication to Internal and External Communication, Social Media Programs, Media Relations, Government Relations, and Non-profit Campaigns, among others.

“With each year that this program has run, it is always a thrill to see the work that Canadian Communicators are doing, and the ways in which they continue to uphold and raise the standard for excellence within the many practice areas our members work,” says Jaye Bowers, National Programs Director, IABC Canada East Region. “Beyond simply a vehicle of recognition, this program has also proven to be a wonderful opportunity for members to learn more about best practices, share their wisdom and experience with fellow communicators, and collaborate as volunteer evaluators. I congratulate all of the entrants on their exemplary work, and in particular, tip my hat to this year’s outstanding winners.”

“The Canadian communications profession is thriving, as evidenced by the impressive body of work the Sliver Leaf program evaluated this year,” says Tamara Gale, National Programs Director, IABC Canada West. “Communicators across the country deliver exceptional, quality work year over year and it is a privilege to learn from each and every submission we receive and evaluate. Congratulations to our 2023 Silver Leaf winners. We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next year.”

IABC recognizes excellence in organizational communications at the international, national and chapter levels. Canada’s national Silver Leaf Awards program has over 50 categories for entries and is managed jointly by the Canada East and Canada West Regions.
