2025 Master Communicator Announced

April 2, 2025

MONTREAL – April 2, 2025 – The IABC Canada Master Communicator Selection Committee is delighted to welcome Alain Legault, MA, SCMP to the group of Master Communicator honourees.

Alain is a member of the Quebec chapter and demonstrated significant contributions to the profession over decades of service to his employers, clients and colleagues.

His leadership and generosity have supported individuals in their career journeys, and helped the profession grow. Seen by many as an outstanding mentor and educator, Alain was a lecturer at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and the Université de Sherbrooke in the past, and through mentorship and speaking opportunities, Alain continues to train and inspire the next generation of communicators.

As a dedicated and visionary leader within IABC, Alain is well known for his contributions as the head of his chapter, member of many IABC task forces, including the global brand (2014-2015), the chair of IABC 50th anniversary and, most importantly as Treasurer and Past Chair of IABC.

“The Master Communicator designation is a prestigious recognition of an individual’s outstanding contributions to the communication profession and to IABC. It honours those who have not only advanced the field through thought leadership but have also uplifted others through mentorship, teaching, and meaningful service to the profession,” said committee chair Paula Bernardino, MCM, SCMP, MC.

IABC Canada recognizes excellence in the communication profession each year with its signature Master Communicator program.

“This prestigious honour has been achieved by only a select few over the past four decades,” Paula added. “Warm congratulations to our 2025 Master Communicator.”

This is a highly coveted and distinguished recognition: with this year’s addition, only 66 communication professionals have received the Master Communicator designation in the 45-year history of the award.
