Director, Public Programs and Engagement
Dana Higgins is Director, Public Programs and Engagement where she is focused on cultivating a vibrant community around Science World through unique and creative program offerings tailored for diverse audiences and community members interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts/Design, and Mathematics (STEAM) learning.
Previously, Dana was Associate Director, Community Engagement and Partnerships at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. Over the years, Dana has worked in various roles with a focus on communications, community engagement, sponsorship and partnership relations, event management, alumni relations, student development, and project management.
A big believer in life-long learning, Dana earned a M.B.A. from Simon Fraser University and a B.A. in Political Science with a focus on International Relations from the University of Victoria. As well as diplomas in public relations and adult education, and accreditation as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
Volunteering has been a focus for Dana for many years, both as a way of giving back, but also as a way of building skills and expanding her network. She’s volunteered in various roles with IABC, including Chapter President for British Columbia in 2020-21.
