Jenn Houtby-Ferguson, CMP CMM is passionate about the tourism industry, and the importance of being #preparednotscared. While her enthusiasm for risk communications and whales is contagious (in a non-communicable way!), her coffee-making skills need work. A tourism management professor at Vancouver Island University and an instructor at the Justice Institute of BC, Jenn loves to connect students to industry.

In her spare time, Jenn is an international communications delegate with the Canadian Red Cross, helping to tell the stories of people impacted by disasters, and will finish her doctorate on tourism disaster risk communications sometime this decade.
